Man Struck, Killed By No. 6 Train In The Bronx

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was struck and killed by a No. 6 subway train Friday evening in the Bronx.

At 8:36 p.m., the man was struck by the southbound train as it pulled into the Longwood Avenue station, in the Longwood section of the Bronx, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority told CBS 2.

Following the incident, No. 6 service was suspended between 177th Street and Third Avenue, police said. Shuttle bus service was placed into use, the MTA said.

It was unclear late Friday how the man ended up on the tracks, the MTA said.

Police said there was no criminality involved in the incident.
