Man Killed, Wife Seriously Injured In Holbrook Motorcycle Accident

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police on Long Island say a motorcyclist was killed and his wife was seriously injured when his speeding motorcycle hit a guardrail.

The accident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday in Holbrook.

Suffolk County police say 36-year-old James Burvenich was driving a 2004 Honda motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control on a curve and hit a guardrail.

Burvenich was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital.

His 33-year-old wife, LeeAnn, who was a passenger, is in serious condition at the hospital.

Both husband and wife were wearing helmets.
