Man Hospitalized After Catching Fire On Top Of Metro-North Train

GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) -- A 21-year-old man is hospitalized after catching fire on top of a New York City-bound commuter train in Connecticut.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials say the man was found on fire atop a Metro-North train shortly after 5 a.m. Sunday at the Riverside station in Greenwich, when crew members were performing an inspection after the train loss power.

MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan says crew members doused 21-year-old Brian McClellen of Ohio with a fire extinguisher. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center. His condition wasn't immediately available.

Donovan says MTA police are investigating how McClellen got on top of the train and why. The trains are powered by overhead electrical wires.

The train was carrying about 20 passengers. They had to get off and take another train into New York.
