Police: Man's Death In Bronx Building Stairwell Was Homicide

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police Wednesday night said the death of a man found in a Bronx public housing development stairwell was a homicide.

Police were called around 1 p.m. to the building at 320 E. 156th St., in the Melrose Houses development in the Melrose section of the Bronx.

They found a man unresponsive in a ninth-floor stairwell, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man had suffered severe head trauma, police said.

Police late Wednesday said the man's death had been deemed a homicide. The New York City Medical Examiner's office will determine the exact cause of the man's death.
