Man Dead In Crash On Korean War Veterans Pkwy. On Staten Island

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on Korean War Veterans Parkway on Staten Island.

Around 10:45 a.m., police were called to the parkway at Huguenot Avenue, in the Huguenot section of Staten Island, for a report of a car crash.

They found the 52-year-old man had been driving a 2004 Pontiac sedan south on the parkway when he struck a middle guard rail, police said.

The man was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His identity had not been released late Tuesday afternoon, pending family notification.

The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad was investigating.
