Man Critically Injured In Bronx Hit-And-Run

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was hospitalized in critical condition Thursday night, following a hit-and-run at a busy Bronx intersection.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday at White Plains Road and Westchester Avenue, near the Parkchester No. 6 Train station, authorities told CBS2.

The driver of a van hit a pedestrian, and sped off, authorities said. The man who was struck was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition, authorities said.

The search for the offending driver continued late Thursday.
