Man Arrested; Guns And Drugs Found In Sunnyside, Queens Bust

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police confiscated a stash of drugs, guns and cash in a bust this week in Sunnyside, Queens.

Around 5 a.m. Tuesday, members of the NYPD Emergency Services Unit and the Patrol Borough Queens North Anti-Crime Units raided a residence at 39-14 44th St. in Queens, police said.

They found four loaded firearms, three imitation pistols, 169 rounds of ammunition, seven marijuana plants, about 17.5 grams of crack cocaine, 136 Hydromorphone pills, and 48 Xanax pills – along with $3,124 in cash, police said.

A man at the residence – Daniel Tone, 42 – was arrested at the scene. He was charged with eight counts of criminal possession of a weapon, as well as drug charges and violation of local law charges.

The seized firearms included a .44 Ruger revolver, a defaced .357 Taurus Magnum revolver, a defaced 9mm Glock 17 semi-automatic, and a .22 High Standard semi-automatic.

The imitation firearms included a fake AR-15 assault rifle, 9mm Uzi, and 9mm Glock 26 semi-automatic.

Police did not indicate whether they believed Tone was involved with any criminal organization. A charge of criminal sale of a controlled substance was among the drug charges, but police did not elaborate.
