Man Arrested For Firing Shots Outside Long Island Hospital

Bay Shore, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - Suffolk County Police arrested a Riverhead man after he fired several shots from a handgun outside a Bay Shore hospital Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in a parking lot outside of Southside Hospital just before 6 a.m.

Upon arrival, police determined that John Gamble, 35, fired multiple rounds from a 9mm handgun.

He was immediately arrested and charged with reckless endangerment.

The hospital was locked down for a brief period as police conducted their investigation.

Nobody was injured by the gunfire, according to police.

Gamble will be held by police overnight before he is arraigned at First District Court on Sunday.
