Man Accused Of Forcibly Touching Undercover Female Officer On Subway Train
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly forcibly touched a plainclothes NYPD officer on the subway.
The incident happened on a No. 5 train that left from the 4, 5, 6 platform at 42 Street and Grand Central Station around 5:50 p.m.
According to the NYPD, the female officer and a sergeant assigned to the Transit Manhattan Task Force Anti-Crime Unit were on the train heading southbound when they noticed a 39-year-old male get on.
The officer then noticed the man brush up against her left hip and press his groin against her, the NYPD said. The officer put her arm out to keep the male away, they said.
Once the train reached the 14th Street and Union Square stop, the NYPD said the officer disembarked and noticed the male had an erection.
After stopping the train and identifying themselves as police officers, the NYPD said the suspect, Javier Monroy, was arrested without incident.
Monroy, of Brooklyn, is charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse.
