Lottery Hopefuls Lining Up For Chance At $353M Mega Millions Jackpot

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night's drawing is now an estimated $353 million, making it the fifth-largest prize in the game's history.

The latest jackpot has been rolling over since it was last won on Jan. 3 by someone in Tennessee, lottery officials said.

It rolled over again Tuesday night after two tickets hit five of the six numbers, but missed the Mega Ball, falling short of the top prize.

The chance to become a millionaire overnight had many lining up for tickets early Friday morning.

"I want to win so I can stop driving a cab," one man told CBS 2's Scott Rapoport. "I drive every day so if I win, I will give to charity, some of the money for good causes -- hospitals and schools --and then go to the sunshine, Florida, and relax for the rest of my life."

Mega Millions has significantly lowered the odds of winning the jackpot, thereby increasing the chances of it rolling over.

The largest jackpot prize was $656 million, set in December 2012.
