Long Island Woman Charged With DWI With Toddler In Car

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island woman was driving intoxicated Sunday morning with her 2-year-old daughter in the car, police said.

Araceli Mondragon-Vargas, 27, of Hempstead, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. after failing to stay in her lane, police said. Officers pulled her over and determined she was intoxicated, according to police.

Mondragon-Vargas' boyfriend and their 2-year-old daughter were also in the vehicle, authorities said.

The child was removed from the scene by the boyfriend, cops said.

The charges against Mondragon-Vargas include aggravated driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Hempstead.
