Thousands Of Long Island Residents Still Without Power From Thursday's Storms

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Thousands of Long Island residents were still without power Saturday, two days after severe weather moved through the area.

The wild weather toppled trees, knocked out power lines and caused major damage.

As of 1 p.m., about 2,000 PSEG Long Island customers were affected by outages. Service isn't expected to be restored until Saturday evening or early Sunday morning.

Utility crews have been called in from Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts to help restore electricity.
