Long Island Music Teacher Accused Of Molesting 2 Girls During Lessons

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A music instructor on Long Island was arrested Thursday and charged with sexually abusing two girls during private lessons.

Kenton Burt, 62, of Kent, Connecticut, was an instructor at the Burt Music School, at 382 Newbridge Rd. in Hicksville, according to Nassau County police.

He was accused of sexually abusing two female students between the ages of 9 and 14 on several occasions between January 2012 and this month, police said.

Burt was arrested at the music school at 4:20 p.m. Thursday, police said.

He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and was to be arraigned on Friday in Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead.
