Long Island Man Wins $20 Million Mega Millions Jackpot

MASTIC, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Southampton man has 20 million reasons to smile after coming forward to claim his Mega Millions prize.

Cameron Finney, 48, said he almost didn't get a ticket in the March 25 drawing because the lottery machine at the first store he visited was broken.

"I asked the man can I have $4 on his Mega Millions and at that time he said his machine wasn't working," Finney said. "We waited for a couple of minutes and then I told him never mind I'll go somewhere else."

Finney went to a Coram gas station, which sold him the winning ticket for $20 million.

Finney, who will get over $7.4 million after taxes, plans to get a BMW for his daughter, a dream house for his wife and a couple of new rides for himself.

"I wrecked my Dodge Ram taking my wife out to dinner and I'm going to buy a new Dodge Ram," Finney said. "I always wanted a Bentley, so now that I am millionaire I'm going to buy my Bentley."

Finney, an orderly at Southampton Hospital, plans to retire next Thursday.
