Long Island Man Pleads Not Guilty In Fatal Strip Club Shooting

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island man pleaded not guilty Wednesday to shooting his friend to death outside a strip club.

Victor Calderon, 21, of Wyandanch, fired a gun into a group of men fighting in a parking lot outside Illusions Gentlemen's Club in Deer Park on Sept. 27, killing 20-year-old Ryan Aguilar, Suffolk County prosecutors said.

Assistant District Attorney Glenn Kurtzrock said Calderon, Aguilar and other friends got into a fight with another group as they left the club, Newsday reported.

Kurtzrock said Calderon got a gun from his car and fired into the group, hitting Aguilar.

Calderon was arrested Tuesday after a months-long investigation. He pleaded not guilty to murder and assault.

Defense attorney Robert Macedonio said his client is innocent.

No gun was ever found at the scene.
