Long Island Man Dead After Crashing Into Telephone Pole

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (AP) -- A Long Island man is dead after his car slammed into a telephone pole.

Nassau County police say Brett Dinsky was pronounced dead at the scene in Garden City around 10:30 a.m., Saturday.

They say the 35-year-old Nesconset man was driving his 2013 BMW sedan at a high speed when it hit the pole at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Second Street.

Police impounded the car for safety inspections.

No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries were reported.
