Long Island Man Accused Of Asking Children To Show Their Underwear

HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island store clerk is under arrest, accused of offering children money to show their underwear and private parts.

According to Suffolk County police, Bipinkumar Patel was working at the Jericho Convenience store in Huntington Friday around 7:20 p.m. when he asked two boys and two girls if they were wearing underwear.

When the children -- between the ages of 11 and 14 -- answered, Patel allegedly offered them money if they showed him their underwear and privates.

The incident was reported to police and Patel was taken into custody, police said.

Patel, 35, of Huntington, is charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released and is due back in court on July 7.
