Long Island Little League Plagued By Rash Of Equipment Thefts

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island little league has been plagued by two thefts.

First, it was a generator that was stolen from the Three Village Baseball and Softball League in Centereach Long Island, authorities said.

Then, after storage facilities were outfitted with more secure locks, a defibrillator and two golf carts were taken from Levitt Ballfield, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

The items are worth nearly $10,000 but so far only one golf cart has been recovered. The carts are used to move equipment for the 800 young people who participate in the league.

Anyone with information regarding these crimes has been asked to contact law enforcement.
