Suffolk County Sees Rise In Homeless Young Adults Under 25

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- In Suffolk County, there are large homes with perfectly manicured lawns and pricey cars on the streets, but there is also a growing homeless population, WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported.

The Suffolk Times reported that a non profit in Riverhead is seeing a new increase in homeless young adults under the age of 25.

News 12 reported that although homelessness has dropped across the nation, Long Island has the third highest homeless population in the country. 

This year, there are 100 more homeless in Nassau and Suffolk counties compared to the previous year, and more than half are children.
