Police: Long Island Gas Station Attendant Shot During Armed Robbery

HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Suffolk County police are investigating an armed robbery and shooting at a gas station in Huntington Station.

A man wearing a mask approached an attendant at the USA Station on New York Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Monday, police said.

The suspect demanded cash before shooting the attendant in the leg, police said.

The suspect fled on foot with cash, police said.

Police are not saying if the incident is related to a series of armed robberies at other Long Island gas stations.

The investigation is ongoing.
