Officers Race Into Long Island Home To Save 3 Dogs From Fire

HICKSVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Three dogs are recovering after being rescued from a house fire on Long Island.

Police heard an animal barking inside a home in Hicksville on Thursday.

Three officers kicked in the front door, raced into the smoke-filled home on Georgia Street and found one dog unconscious in the living room.

Officers revived the dog outside.

Two other dogs in the home were also rescued.

"The one we recovered out of the living was completely unconscious, the other two were found in the kitchen underneath the table and they walked out on their own," Officer Andrew Massa told 1010 WINS.

A vet says all three will be fine.

No one in the home was hurt.
