LISTEN: Tom Coughlin Viciously Booed, Heckled After Hall Of Fame Game
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- This is ... disturbing.
Following Sunday night's Hall of Fame Game -- a Giants victory over the Bills -- in Canton, Ohio, head coach Tom Coughlin conducted a standard postgame press conference.
While answering questions, the three-time Super Bowl champion was booed ... viciously.
Why? We have no idea. The 67-year-old is widely respected around the league, and the Hall of Fame Game is a meaningless exhibition.
It stands to reason, of course, that the unhappy fans were Bills supporters. That makes the situation even more confounding, as Coughlin is a native Upstate New Yorker. Born in Waterloo, he played and coached at Syracuse University and was the head coach at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Coughlin didn't just deal with booing. He also dealt with hecklers. A "Lets Go Buffalo!" chant broke out when the coach was answering questions, and one guy yelled, "New Jersey frauds!"
Another hollered, "Coughlin, 7-9. Live with it!"

"Are you kidding me?" Coughlin remarked when the booing began.
