"I'm going to oversee the scouting combine, the draft, the games, the playoffs for Kitten Bowl II," Boomer said on air on Wednesday.

Kitten Bowl II will air on the Hallmark Channel on February 1, 2015, the day of Super Bowl XLIX.

"We couldn't have formed history's first Feline Football League without an exceptional commissioner," said Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Crown Media Family Networks. "Boomer Esiason is the embodiment for everything the Feline Football League stands for, and we're excited to bring him on as the new face and leader of the network's newest league that celebrates pet adoption."

Esiason, an animal lover, confirmed to his radio partner that he will not be leaving WFAN and will still be a studio analyst on CBS' "The NFL Today."

They don't call him the hardest-working man in sports media for nothing, folks.
