NYC, NJ Bombings Prompt Push For Security Cameras On LIRR Trains
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- One Long Island lawmaker is calling for more video surveillance at Long Island Rail Road stations following the bombing attacks in Chelsea, Seaside Park and Elizabeth, New Jersey.

Sen. Todd Kaminsky made an appearance at the Rockville Centre LIRR station Wednesday to make his case, WCBS 880's Mike Xirinachs reported.
"Right here in this location we're kind of naked," Kaminsky said. "We need all of the protection that we can to keep terrorists away from the places that we know most commuters gather."
Kaminsky has reached out to MTA Chairman and CEO Thomas Prendergast urging authorities to install cameras in LIRR stations and rail cars.
Kaminsky believes fear of surveillance may have kept bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahimi away from transportation centers.
"The more cameras the better deterrence we get," Kaminsky said.
Federal terrorism charges were filed against Rahami on Tuesday night. He also faces state charges in New Jersey of attempting to murder police officers from a shootout with police that led to his capture Monday outside a bar in Linden, New Jersey.
