1 dead after LIRR train strikes vehicle on tracks in Huntington Station
HUNTINGTON, N.Y. -- One person is dead after a Long Island Rail Road train slammed into a car that was on the tracks.
It happened around 6:40 a.m. Saturday at Fifth and McKay Road in Huntington Station.
An MTA police spokesperson says one person in the car was killed.
Train service is fully restored between Hicksville and Huntington following an unauthorized vehicle on the tracks that was struck by a train.

LIRR service was temporarily suspended in both directions but resumed around 9:30 a.m.
