Police: Man Steals Tow Truck, Leads Cops On LIE Chase

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It was a scene right out of a movie.

A man stole a tow truck that was helping a disabled vehicle on Long Island on Saturday night and then led police on a chase, 1010 WINS' Derricke Dennis reported.

According to police, the theft happened just before midnight Saturday and police chased the suspect on the Long Island Expressway from Roosevelt, Long Island, into Queens. The thief hit several cars at the 108th Street exit, including a police car, cops said. He then fled on foot before police caught up to him and arrested him, authorities said.

The stolen truck is owned by All County Auto in Island Park.
