Traffic Moving Again On Westbound LIE After Tractor-Trailer Crash In Melville

MELVILLE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Traffic is moving again on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway after a tractor-trailer overturned early Thursday morning.

The crash happened in the westbound lanes around 6 a.m. near exit 49 in Melville. It's unclear if the driver was hurt. No other vehicles appeared to be involved in the accident.

The left lane and the HOV lane have reopened, police said.

All westbound lanes between exits 50 and 49 had been closed for hours as crews worked to clear the truck from the road. Vehicles were being diverted off the L.I.E. to the service road.
