Charles Scores 18 As Liberty Beat Atlanta Dream 86-62 For 4th Straight Win

NEW YORK (AP) -- Tina Charles had 18 points and nine rebounds to help the New York Liberty beat the Atlanta Dream 86-62 on Wednesday for their fourth straight victory.

Charles scored 10 points in the third quarter as New York extended its 10-point halftime lead with a 15-2 run to open the quarter.

Atlanta only made one field goal in the first 8 minutes and trailed 65-42 entering the fourth. Charles did not play in the final 10 minutes.

Sugar Rodgers added 13 points and Rebecca Allen scored a career-high 11 points for New York (16-6), which is ranked No. 3 in the AP power poll. The Liberty grabbed a season-high 21 offensive rebounds and outrebounded Atlanta 50-32.

Tiffany Hayes scored 12 points and Bria Holmes added 11 points for fourth-ranked Atlanta (11-10). The Dream was held to 20-of-67 shooting (30 percent) from the field.
