Police: Gas Station Employee Shoots, Kills Coworker In Nassau County

GLEN HEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A gas station employee shot and killed his 35-year-old coworker Saturday morning in Nassau County, police say.

Police said two men got into a workplace argument and one fatally shot the other.

It happened around 11:20 a.m. at the CITGO gas station at D&R Automotive on Glen Head Road in Glen Head.

"This is not a random act. The community is deemed safe," Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun said.

Longtime customer Peter Conza told CBS2's Lisa Rozner the small business is run by two brothers.

"They're great. My family's been going there since the 70s," he said. "So I mean, we know them personally."

He said there's usually no more than four people working there.

"They usually have one guy inside running the show and two or three guys in the shop there," he said. "It's crazy what happened there."

A person of interest is being questioned by investigators.
