Levittown Man Convicted In 2014 Attack On Landlord

MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Long Island man accused in a 2014 attack on his landlord that ended with a police standoff has been convicted of attempted murder and other charges.

Rohan Kahn, of Levittown, faces up to 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on Sept. 4, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.

On Feb. 11, 2014, Kahn punched, kicked and repeatedly shot at the landlord after an argument.

Kahn fired shots inside the house, causing shattered glass to cut the landlord's face, police said.

The quarrel then spilled outside the home. More shots were fired and a woman in a car suffered minor injuries when she was struck by shattered glass, police said.

When police arrived, Kahn barricaded himself in his home, prompting a standoff with officers at the scene. Kahn later surrendered without incident, police said.

During the standoff, schools in Levittown went into lockdown mode, according to Island Trees School Superintendent Dr. Charles Murphy.
