Police: 2 Arrested For Attacking Man With Pipe In Levittown

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police have arrested two suspects who punched, kicked and struck a man over the head with an aluminum pipe on Long Island.

The 30-year-old victim was leaving work at the Escorza Restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown on Friday when the two men approached and assaulted him, Nassau County police said.

The victim was treated at a hospital and later released.

The suspects were identified as Carlos Alfredo-Rivera and Darwin Noel Caballero. The 20 year olds were arrested on charges of second-degree assault. Caballero was additionally charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

Alfredo-Rivera was arrested at the scene.

Caballero surrendered on Monday.
