Levittown Man Accused Of Collecting Child Pornography Showing Young Girls

LEVITTOWN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A Long Island man was arrested and charged Monday with collecting child pornography depicting girls as young as 5 years old.

Charles Powers, 54, of Levittown, was accused of uploading numerous child pornography photos to his personal computer from a live Internet video chat site between Nov. 16 of last year and Jan. 10 of this year, according to Nassau County police.

The files depicted girls between the ages of 5 and 8 engaging in sexual contact with a grown man, police said.

Powers was arrested at his home on Monday, and was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child, police said.

He was to be arraigned in Nassau County First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
