Levi's Stadium Just About Ready For Its First Super Bowl

SANTA CLARA (KPIX 5) -- The field at Levi’s Stadium will have millions of eyes on it for Super Bowl 50, and it’s nearly ready for the action.

“It’s a compact site for sure. It took a couple of years of planning, but we feel we have the right plan in place to make everything function and flow properly for Super Bowl,” NFL Director of Events Eric Finklestein said.

The seats are still 49ers red, but grounds crews have been putting the finishing touches on the field, and have painted the NFL’s logo at the 50-yard line.

“It’s the Super Bowl, so we want to have a look and a feel for the game. It’s the biggest game of the year,” Finklestein said.

One thing that won’t be found among the Super Bowl insignia is a Roman numeral.  This would have been Super Bowl “L” but the NFL decided it didn’t want that.

“We’ll go back to Roman numerals next year in Houston. But, with this being such a big important year, we wanted it to stand out even more,” Finklestein said.
