After 2 1/2 Year Run Curtain Set To Close For 'Les Miserables' On Broadway
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- The cast of "Les Miserables'' will say goodbye to Broadway this fall.
The third Broadway incarnation of Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil's legendary musical will roll up its flags at the Imperial Theatre on Sept. 4.
The show produced 1,026 performances over 2 1/2 years.
This version, directed by Laurence Connor and James Powell, capped a national tour that began in 2010.
"Les Miserable" currently stars Alfie Boe, Swenson and Montego Glover. When it arrived on Broadway, it starred Ramin Karimloo, Will Swenson, Caissie Levy and Nikki M. James.
The musical featuring fan favorites like "I Dreamed a Dream" boasts music by Schonberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel.
