Will Leonardo DiCaprio Take Home An Oscar This Awards Season?

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- This may just be Leonardo DiCaprio's lucky year.

There is a lot of talk in Hollywood that the actor might indeed take home his first Oscar for his role in the film "The Revenant," CBS2's Jill Nicolini reported.

DiCaprio took home the Golden Globe for 'Best Actor' with his leading role in "The Revenant." The film also won in the 'Best Director' and 'Best Movie' categories.

Alejandro González Iñárritu, who directed the Academy Award-winning 2014 film "Birdman" took home the 'Best Director' win for the film.

If an actor is nominated at the Globes -- that usually means a nomination for the Oscars. Nominations for the 2015 Academy Awards will be announced later this week.
