Lena Dunham Says She'll Move To Canada If Trump Is Elected; Trump Calls Her A 'B Actor'
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/CBS News) -- Lena Dunham said Tuesday that she would move to Canada if Donald Trump is elected president this November, and she said she is serious about it.
The "Girls" star and Hillary Clinton supporter has made her dislike of Trump clear before, she wasn't mincing her words this time around, CBS News reported.
"I know a lot of people have been threatening to do this, but I really will," Dunham said Monday of moving to Canada in the event of a Trump win in November. "I know a lovely place in Vancouver and I can get my work done from there."
When Trump was alerted to the comments during a "Fox & Friends" interview on Tuesday, he was dismissive.
"Well, she's a B actor and has no mojo," Trump said. "I heard Whoopi Goldberg said that, too. That would be a great, great thing for our country if she got out."
He also warmly mentioned the prospect of Rosie O'Donnell leaving the country, CBS News reported. "Now I have to get elected because I'll be doing a great service to our country," he said.
While Google searches about moving to Canada have become commonplace amid this election cycle, how feasible legally moving to Canada is for most Americans could be another story.
CBS Chicago Executive Producer John Dodge delved into the matter last month, and got rejected after filling out one quick survey. Although there are several options for entering the country, the immediate rejection suggests that "simply" picking up your bags and heading to Toronto may not be so simple at all.
