La'el Collins, Undrafted Top Prospect, Meets With Bills' Ryan

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- La'el Collins could have a pair of potential suitors in the AFC East.

The LSU offensive lineman whose NFL draft stock plummeted due to an ongoing police investigation was seen leaving a Baton Rouge restaurant after meeting with Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan on Monday night.

Collins went undrafted last week after Louisiana authorities requested to speak with him regarding the April 24 murder of pregnant ex-girlfriend Brittney Mills, whose child later died. Police met with Collins on Monday and said he "fully cooperated with investigators and is still not considered a suspect," according to the Advocate (La.).

Collins, once a first-round prospect, didn't offer much after dining with Ryan.

"God is good, man," he told WBRZ-TV.

Ryan said even less:

Collins will reportedly have a visit with the Miami Dolphins on Tuesday, according to the Advocate. There's been interest from "almost every" team in the league, the newspaper reported, and the 21-year-old is eligible to choose his destination as an undrafted free agent.

His lawyer, Jim Boren, said Collins answered "every single question" from the police.

"The investigation is going to continue," Boren told the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "La'el is now going to start making an effort to start getting his football career back on track."
