L.I. School Computer Technician Pleads Guilty To Child Pornography Possession

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A computer technician for a company contracted to do work for Long Island schools pleaded guilty Friday to possessing child pornography.

Ryan Ramdass of Queens Village admitted in court to charges of promoting the sexual performance of a child.

Ramdass's employer did work for the Levittown schools. A spokeswoman for the Queens District Attorney said there was no indication any of the images were of children in that district.

A search warrant in May 2013 of Ramdass's home found thousands of videos and images of child pornography on his laptop and external hard drives.

Queens Supreme Court Justice Dorothy Chin-Brandt said she will sentence Ramdass to 2 to 6 years in prison on Jan. 8.

His attorney did not immediately return a telephone message seeking comment.
