L.I. Neurologist Accused Of Touching Patient Inappropriately

PORT JEFFERSON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A doctor was arrested Wednesday on allegations that he touched a patient inappropriately at his office in Port Jefferson, Long Island.

Dr. Jacob Mathew, 58, a neurologist, was arrested at his office at 100 Oakland Ave. in Port Jefferson on charges that he inappropriately touched a female patient during a treatment visit in February.

Mathew was charged with forcible touching, and was to be arraigned at Suffolk County First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Police asked that anyone with information in the ongoing investigation call Sixth Squad detectives at (631) 854-8652.
