Kozy Shack Recalls 64,000 Cases Of Pudding For Labeling Issue

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Pudding dessert company Kozy Shack Enterprises has issued a voluntary recall of around 64,000 cases of pudding due to an issue with improper labeling.

The company, headquartered in Hicksville, said a shipment of the Indulgent Recipe Pudding and Salted Caramel varieties may contain Vanilla Bean pudding cups, which have eggs in their recipe.

The cardboard sleeve that packages the pudding does not list eggs as an ingredient, according to Kozy Shack.

The recalled product was distributed to retail stores in 18 states -- Arizona, California, Connecticut, Idaho, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Nevada, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah, Virginia and Washington.

Minnesota-based cooperative Land O'Lakes owns Kozy Shack Enterprises.
