CBS Sports: Arron Afflalo To Join Knicks On 2-Year Deal

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York Knicks have struck early on the second day of free agency, adding guard Arron Afflalo, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

Afflalo will sign a two-year, $16 million deal with an opt-out option after next season, Berger reported.

Afflalo, 29, averaged 13.3 points, 1.7 assists and 3.2 rebounds for Denver and Portland last season.

Afflalo's best season came with Orlando in 2013-14, when he averaged 18.2 points 3.4 assists and 3.6 rebounds. He played with Knicks star Carmelo Anthony in Denver from 2009 until Melo's trade to New York in 2011.

The Knicks will likely look to add a big man next. Team brass reportedly held a meeting with Greg Monroe on Wednesday, though he ultimately chose Milwaukee. New York has also been linked to LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan and Robin Lopez.
