Kiwanuka, Schwartz Among 5 Giants Placed On Injured Reserve
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) — The hits just keep on coming.
Defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka and offensive linemen Geoff Schwartz and Adam Snyder were among five New York Giants who went on injured reserve Tuesday, increasing the team's total to 20.
Defensive end Robert Ayers and linebacker Terrell Manning also went on the list.
The entire @Giants organization has been excellent and I'm so glad I'm here. Can't wait to help us win next season!

Might have made @nfl history today. First player to have been on IR twice in a season. Not exactly how I planned to be a trivia answer.

Kiwanuka's streak of 63 straight games was snapped Sunday when he missed the loss at Jacksonville with a knee injury. Ayers started in his place, then tore a pectoral muscle. Ayers was tied for the team lead with five sacks.
Schwartz, a major offseason acquisition, missed the first 10 games with a dislocated toe. Then he hurt his ankle Sunday.
New York signed running back Chris Ogbonnaya and added from the practice squad guard Eric Herman, defensive tackle Dominique Hamilton and linebacker James Davidson.
The Giants cannot replace Manning on the roster for three weeks under NFL rules because he was just signed off Cincinnati's practice squad.
