Police: Boy, 16, Missing From Kips Bay Home

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Monday night for a teenage boy who had been missing since Friday night from his East Side home.

Kyle Hoffmaier, 16, was last seen around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the apartment on 24th Street in Kips Bay where he lives with his family, police said.

His family said this was the first time Kyle has run away and gone missing, and said he has a borderline autism spectrum disorder.

Kyle is described as white and 16 years old, with brown eyes. He stands about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 145 pounds, and was last seen wearing a grey polo shirt, khaki pants, a black leather jacket, and blue sneakers.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers website, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
