Key West Comes To The Big Apple At Annual Orchid Show

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you're one of the many wishing you were in a warmer climate, then the New York Botanical Garden has the next best thing for you: the annual Orchid Show.

This year's Orchid Show, which kicked off on Saturday, has a Key West contemporary theme, 1010 WINS reported.

Everywhere visitors turn they will be greeted by different varieties of orchids to chase those winter blues away, CBS 2 reported.

The Enid A. Haupt Conservatory's glasshouse galleries have been transformed into a modernist Key West estate garden, where visitors can take in the sights and smells of Vanda (rainbow orchids), Dendrobium (cane orchids), and Cymbidium (Asian corsage orchids).

The Orchid show is also interactive, hosting live performances, a curated poetry walk and other activities on the weekends.

The show runs through April 21, long enough to get you through until real flowers start popping up outside.
