Just Another Day At Work For 101-Year-Old New Jersey Man

EAST HANOVER, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New Jersey man celebrated his 101st birthday over the weekend, and despite his age has refused to quit after 73 years of working at the same job.

Herman "Hy'' Goldman still shows up four days a week at Capitol Lighting in East Hanover.

His co-workers celebrated his birthday with him on Monday.

Aside from a brief absence to serve in the U.S. Army in World War II, Goldman said he has worked for Capitol Lighting since 1941.

The company said he was first hired to sell items and stock and clean the displays.

Goldman's co-worker Sandy Ronco said he now specializes in rebuilding items that were damaged or deemed unusable.

The Whippany resident still drives himself to work in a 1999 Ford Contour.
