NFL Fines Norman $26,044 For Role In Incidents Involving Beckham

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — The NFL has fined Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Norman $26,044 for his role in several incidents involving Odell Beckham Jr. and the Giants in Sunday's game.

Norman was fined twice Wednesday in the amounts of $17,363 and $8,681.

Beckham was suspended for New York's game Sunday against Minnesota, but Norman did not face a suspension. Beckham appealed his suspension and a hearing was held Wednesday.

Norman was docked the larger amount for striking Beckham in the head and neck area. The other fine was for a face-mask infraction.

Beckham and Norman began tangling at the outset of the game, which Carolina won 38-35. Beckham received three personal-foul penalties and in the suspension announcement was cited by the league for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Norman while the receiver was blocking.

Both players were voted to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.
