Cops: Bronx Man Faces Murder Charges After Death Of 2-Month-Old Boy

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Bronx man has been arrested in connection to the death of a 2-month old boy found in wooded area of White Plains.

Police said staff at the New York Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains informed authorities of the death of Mason Whyte, a two-month old boy, after receiving a tip from the victim's mother, a patient. Police said the boy was killed in a Bronx apartment on Bogart Avenue on Dec. 10.

After receiving the tip, police conducted an investigation which led to the discovery of Whyte's body in the vicinity of Kitchen Corner Road and Route 22 in Dover.

Jose Feliciano, 51, of the Bronx, was arrested shortly after in connection to the incident, police said. Feliciano is charged with manslaughter of a child under the age of 11 and murder in the 2nd degree. The victim's mother is also in custody.

According to the Daily News, the mother confessed to dumping the infant's remains in the Puntnam County woods after finding out Feliciano, her boyfriend, had killed him, 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported.
