'The Private Collection Of Joan Rivers' On Display At Christies New York

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Joan Rivers' fans now have a chance to own something from their favorite late comedian.

As CBS2's Jill Nicolini reported, Christies is holding an auction with some of her most beloved possessions.

"My mother was a maximalist, which means she had a lot of stuff," Melissa Rivers said, "She was a maximalist, like I said, rich people hoarding!"

The Private Collection of Joan Rivers is now on display to the public at Christies New York.

"We all know about Joan Rivers the comedian, the hardest working woman in show business, but this is her reward, this is what she gave herself with all that hard work," Christies America, Deputy Chairman, Jonathan Rendell said.

Rivers lived in a penthouse on East 62nd Street where she collected fine jewelry, French furniture, and a wardrobe fit for a queen. The items on display reflect her individual and eclectic style.

"We range from $500 to $800 and up to four to $5,000," Rendell said.

For pieces of Faberge it gets even pricier. The Faberge Nephrite Lilly of the Valley dish is one of the most expnsive items on the auction with a starting bid of $200,000.

"Is an extraordinary object and an amazing piece of workmanship , reflects Joan Rivers' Russian heritage," Rendell said.

Also from the Russian jeweler are Faberge picture frames that include pictures of her family. They can be yours from $25,000 to $150,000. A broach is available for thirty to $50,000.

"I love the Harry Winston broach designed partially by Joan Rivers herself and incorporating some jewels that actually belonged to her mother," Rendell said.

On the more affordable side is a Tiffany dog bowl which was used by her beloved dog Spike, it starts at $500.

The desk and chair that Rivers used to write most of her standup are being auctioned together with a starting bid of $1,000 to $1,500.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit both 'God's Love We Deliver' and 'Guide Dogs For The Blind.'

The online auction is underway, and the live auction will be held Wed. June 22.
