First Lady Jill Biden Visits Elementary School In Burlington, New Jersey

BURLINGTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited the Garden State on Monday.

Gov. Phil Murphy greeted Dr. Biden at the military base in Trenton before she met with teachers and students at Samuel Smith Elementary school in Burlington.

It's part of the White House's promotion of the newly enacted American Rescue Plan.

In her remarks, the First Lady said our nation is "beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel."

Dr. Biden said the American Rescue Plan is about brining children back to schools and parents back to work.

The nation's schools are receiving thousands of dollars for cleaning supplies, education technology, mental health services and more.
