Jets Sign Third-Round Pick Jordan Jenkins

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Six down, one to go.

The Jets announced Friday they have signed third-round draft pick Jordan Jenkins, a linebacker who played at the University of Georgia.

Jenkins is the sixth of the team's seven draft picks to sign contracts. The only one yet to sign is first-round linebacker Darron Lee.

Terms of Jenkins' deal were not disclosed.

In four seasons at Georgia, Jenkins had 204 tackles and 19 sacks. He had his best season as a junior, when he registered 70 tackles and five sacks. Plagued by groin and hip injuries last season, the 6-foot-3, 259-pound linebacker had 58 tackles and four sacks in 11 games.

"He is an athletic mover who can get upfield quickly with burst, using his heavy hands to extend and beat up blockers with his limbs," his CBS Sports draft profile reads. "Jenkins is best attacking the pocket, but at linebacker, his change of direction skills and awareness will be challenged in space."
